@Motorfordtoyota The death of cars is mostly due to corrosion. The weather in certain parts of America is perfect for preserving metal-work. In contrast, the weather in Europe speeds up corrosion, mainly due to the salt put down on the roads during the colder months. American cars were simple and easy to fix, replacement parts were easy to find. If you *Need* a car it makes sense to get one that can be maintained. A lot of garages in the US weren't qualified to "operate" on European cars.
