@BrianK299 "Problem was, at any given time, there were thousands of 1 and 2 year old models on the used car lots" Hmm.... I wonder why? Must be because the product isn't good enough to sell it's self. Half of them were heaps of junk that's why they lost their value. Detriot focused on cutting corners not improving their line. While GM would only update their line up ever 8-10 years. The Japanese were revamping and refreshing theirs every 5-6 years with a new, and far better product than the last

@BrianK299 "The current Chevy Cobalt and Ford Focus are BIGGER than the Honda Fit" And my point was that the cobalt isn't a comparable car to the Fit. It isn't a hatch. The Civic is a much bigger car than the cobalt and in terms of interior space and refinement the Fit DOMINATES. comparing the cobalt to the Fit is like comparing A silverado to a ranger. They are both in different classes. You seem to not understand that.

@BrianK299 "Japan's dominance of high resale values is ending" Honda still maintains the highest resale value out of any other brand. Copare your car with the same year civic, similar trim, and amount of miles. The civic will be worth 3 to 4 k more than what the Chevy will every be worth. Why? Because they are better made machines. The engineers check constantly on how to improve the quality of their vehicles. In the 90's domestic brands WERE NOT competitive in terms of compact cars.

@EpiDemic117 - As for Resale Value...If you knew anything about the laws of Supply and Demand... you would KNOW that Japan's dominance of high resale values is ending... and for one major reason: Fleet Sales. For decades, the Big 3 relied on fleet sales to keep their sales numbers up. Problem was, at any given time, there were thousands of 1 and 2 year old models on the used car lots. High supply = lower prices. You couldn't find a 1 or 2 year old Japanese car. Low supply = higher prices

@EpiDemic117 - That is my point. The current Chevy Cobalt and Ford Focus are BIGGER than the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris... and they get better fuel economy. Now, with the Cruze and Fiesta, Honda and Toyota Got Nothing on the American cars!Give me a larger car with more room, better fuel economy, more cargo room, and better crash protection.And... the Cobalt is over 90% American parts content. Look it up... and quit drinking the Japanese Kool-Aid.

@realm313 You are an idiot. If you buy American you are only making the ceo's of American car companies richer. They aren't helping out working Americans by giving them jobs. They are sending jobs to other countries that have cheap labor. If you want to create jobs in America you have to buy an Asian brand like toyota,nissan,hyunday.. etc.... how ironic huh? The foreign companies are more responsible for providing jobs in America then Americans! That's American capitalism for you. Greed.

Im considering the Fiesta as a possible new car but all i keep finding are just things like this where all they say is "we hope it still looks the same, we hope that it doesnt suck, etc. Are there any real reviews of this car that arent all negative or all positive feed back from someone who isnt getting paid?

@realm313 It wasn't designed or evaluated in America, they did that at in England I beleive, as they did with the Focus.

@realm313 You're right. Because that's worked out so well for Detroit and Flint Michigan...

@realm313 Biggest redneck misconception of the economy ever.
